The issue of having good road network is one of the challenging problems in post-war Liberia. Liberians over the years have been yearning for paved roads across the country to increase trade, commerce, food production among others.
As in the words of Mr. Abraham Saysay, the improved road network is one of the key attractions for both local and international investments in the economy of any country.
It is in this direction that Mr. Saysay who is a commercial bus driver and other residents of Monrovia and its environs were overwhelmed with joy yesterday when one side of the Somalia road was officially dedicated in Monrovia. Mr. Saysay said the dedication of the road will greatly ease usual traffic congestion and improve free movement of goods and services.
He applauded the Government and its international partners for the gains made thus far as it relates to improving the Somalia Drive Road.
“We, as Liberians and the government, must help to properly maintain this road. We must take good ownership of it as we strive to rebuild our country for the benefit of us all,” he emphasized.
