Former Liberian International Thomas Kojo has been confirmed as the Caretaker manager of the National Men’s Football team of Liberia, the Lone Star.
Kojo’s appointment was confirmed at the close of last week by both the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Liberia Football Association, following earlier pronouncement by LFA President Musa Bility that James Debbah was still in charge of the national men’s football team.
According to the LFA and the Youth and Sports Ministry, Coach Thomas Kojo and his technical staff will stir the affairs of the National men’s football team until a final determination is made on the appointment of coaches for the national team.
LFA Vice President for Administration, Sekou Konneh The Monrovia Times Coach Kojo’s immediate task is to put together a home-based team that will take on Sierra Leone on July 22 in Monrovia in an International Friendly.
The game will also form part of celebrations commemorating Liberia’s 171st Independence Day.
Other members of the Lone Star Caretaker technical staff include former IE and Lone Star forward Sam Chibli, deputy coach, George Gebro Assistant Coach and Sunday Sieh, goalkeeper trainer.
Thomas Kojo who was recently appointed by Invincible Eleven IE as the club’s Technical Director for football has meanwhile named 25 local players for Liberia vs Sierra Leone Independence Day match.
The team is due to commence training at the ATS this Tuesday.
