CNDRA Closes Chapter On Land Matters As LLA Takes Jurisdiction

The Center for National Documents and Records Agency has finally turned over all land related instruments to the Liberia Land Authority (LLA).

Key among the materials turned over were two recording ledgers to the LLA containing records from 2016 – July 30, 2018 while the stamp of the registrar for deeds and titles was destroyed by both Directors.

It was agreed by both parties that the official CNDRA Seal and files for adoption previously used by the Deeds and Titles Section remain in the custody of the Agency.

The official turning over ceremony took place on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the central office of the National Archives located on 12th Street, Sinkor.

Speaking during the occasion, CNDRA Director General C. Neileh Daitouah said a technical committee will be set up in few days to draft procedures regarding the conduct of search on land deeds at the Agency’s repository.

“Both the CNDRA and LLA will nominate two persons each to form part of the technical committee that will work on details concerning deeds search,” he explained.

The program witnessed by Representatives of the LLA and CNDRA was organized by officials of the Center for National Documents and Records Agency/ National Archives.
