Mighty Barrolle the second oldest football club in Liberia has once again had a change of Leadership with the board of directors of the club naming a new caretaker president.
Mighty Barrolle Board of Directors headed by former President Julia Duncan Cassel has named the club’s secretary general Ivan Brown as the Association’s new acting president.
Ivan Brown who is a commissioner and Board Chairman at the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA) was appointed as Acting President of the Barrolle Sports Association two days ago by the Association’s board.
According to a communication from the Chairman of the Barrolle Board of Directors, Mr. Brown is to stir the affairs of the Keyan Pepper club until elections are held next year.
Barrolle was relegated to the LFA 2nd league recently and has not had an election since the 80s as all of those that have served as President of the club from the late 90s have all been appointed by the Board of Directors.
Eugene Nagbe, current Information Minister of Liberia resigned earlier this week from the Barrolle Presidency.
Mr. Nagbe said though he has resigned as president of the BSA, he will still work with the next leadership to uplift the Association.
He has been acting President of the Association since Madam Julia Duncan Cassel stepped down two years ago.
The Barrolle Sports Association new President Ivan Brown has been the Chief Scribe of the Association for more than two years, recruiting technical staff and players.
He was instrumental in organizing a series of gathering of Mighty Barrolle key stakeholders in recent time to find a way to move the association forward.
Reacting to his appointment, Mr. Brown said he was happy for the confidence reposed in him by the Board and will work in ensuring the aspirations of Barrolle are realize adequately.
Also appointed is former Football team manager Kellie Miller as Secretary General.
Mr. Miller on April 14, 2018 won a seat on the LFA Executive Committee. He has however been away from the club since Garmondeh Karnga then President of Barrolle turned over the Association to Madam Julia Duncan Cassell in 2010.
