The only public Elementary & Junior High School in Gbarnga-siaquelleh, Panta district#4, is lying-in a state of deplorable condition.
Speaking in an interview with Journalist in Gbarnga-saiquelleh following a tour in the district, the principle of the school, Mr. Harrison Nyeleker revealed that the school is experiencing serious shortages armchairs, especially the kindergarten division.
According to him, students have been asked to provide mats for seating, which he described as a serious embarrassment and deplorable situation for learning condition of the kids.
The Christine T. Norman principle put the estimated number of students attending the school at six hundred and one from other nearby towns and villages in the district.
“If nothing is done to curtail the growing embarrassment we will not run the kindergarten section of the school,” Mr. Nyeleker stressed.
The Christine T. Norman’s principle meanwhile used the medium to call on the Ministry of education through the Bong County School System and humanitarians to come to the aid of the school.
He said kids and youths in the town are in dying need of quality education; as such MOE should urgently intervene in the lack chairs case and create a conducive atmosphere for learning.
Mr. Nyeleker also added that the provision of safe drinking water is another impediment on the campus as students of the school walk several miles to get drinking water which some time cause students to stall away from school, especially the kids.
He disclosed that the construction of a hand pump and toilet facility will help to curtail some of the difficult students are going through on campus.
