Community Youth Empowerment or CYE’s defense of the Liberia Kickball Federation Knockout title came to an end at the weekend with a 3-2 home-run defeat at the hands of Supreme Girls.
Supreme Girls who lost the title to CYE in 2017 final on similar scoreline defeated eliminated the defending Champions scoring all three home-runs in the first innings in Round Two of the knockout.
Round Two concluded Sunday with giants, Amazon been eliminated by Capital bypass based Vision Sisters in an entertaining clash.
Vision Sisters came from down 3-0 home-runs to bout out Amazon on 6-3 home-runs.
The Amazon took the lead in the first innings but failed to defend well, as Vision Sisters scored 2 home-runs in their own first inning and added further four in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings.
God’s Anointed were defeated by Ask Sisters who had to come from behind a 5-2 home-run trailing in the fourth innings to win in dramatic style.
Ask Sisters won that match 7-5 home-runs to progress to the quarter-final.
Young Stars Sports Club International (YSSCI) took a quarterfinal ticket with a 3-0 win over a much improved Blacktom Girls.
Royal Sisters defeated Success Girls 6-2 home-runs in the early match at the SKD Practice field in Paynesville.
Meanwhile, the quarterfinal draw took place at the end of Sunday’s matches with all of the titles favored sides avoiding each other.
All of the quarter-final fixtures will take place Wednesday at the SKD practice pitch, with the lease rated team in the competition taking on the 2016/17 Champions, Supreme Girls who are one of the four title hopefuls.
