President George Manneh Weah has reinstated Ms. JamimaWolokollie to her position as Deputy Minister of Commerce for Small Business with immediate effect.
Madam Wolokollie in May this year was indefinitely suspended by the president for allegedly disrespecting her boss, Commerce Minister Prof. Wilson K. Tarpeh.
Following her indefinite suspension, the ‘aggressive’ Deputy Commerce Minister has since accused her boss of conniving with shady foreign businesses in the country at the detriment of Liberian-owned businesses.
She claimed, Minister Tarpeh was blocking all her efforts to prioritize the interest of Liberianization – a policy that provides exclusive trade and commerce privileges for Liberian entrepreneurs – and does not want her to succeed in her functions, something yet to be debunked by the Commerce Minister.
President Weah as part of efforts to resolve the fracture between the two government officials, have called on all deputies to accord the highest respect and courtesy to their leaders; and refrain from taking internal disputes and/or disagreements to the public space for redress.
With her latest reinstatement by the Liberian leader, it appears that her ‘aggressive’ posture towards her boss will shrink and she will now have to play by the whims and caprices of her immediate boss, Minister Tarpeh.
