The Liberia National Football Team, the Lone Star will Thursday challenge the Red Devils of Congo Brazzaville in round three of the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations.
The match, a Group G fixture will take place Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the Alphonse Massamba Debat, in Brazzaville, Congo.
The Lone Star of Liberia needs to win that contest if the nation of the Only African and World Best Player is to get its qualification hopes back on track.
The Lone Star currently sits at the bottom of Group G on one point after two matches.
A 31-man Liberian football delegation departed the country at the weekend for Brazzaville for the crunch encounter with several over-sea and locals invited for the game.
The team has been in Brazzaville doing training for the Thursday’s match against hosts Congo Brazzaville.
Stars in Brazzaville for the chase include Skipper William Jebor, Anthony Laffor, Kpah Sherman, Sam Johnson, and Sylvanus Nimely.
Others are, midfielders Murphy Dorley, Allen Njie, Saah Nyuma, Right-back Joel Johnson, Aloysius Simujla, David Paye, Trokon Myers, among others.
Report says William Jebor alongside Anthony Laffor, Kpah Sherman, Sam Johnson and Sylvanus Nimley was seen taking part in goal-scoring drills during the team’s last warmup session.
Midfielders Murphy Dorley, Allen Njie and Saah Nyuma were among those involved in ball possession and creative passes drill which is a key component of the team’s performance.
Right-back Joel Johnson, whose performance against Congo DR impressed coach Kojo, was seen participating in long-range crosses alongside left-back Aloysius Simujla.
The squad was pictured carrying out some light fitness work and technical drills as they look to upset the ‘Red Devils’ of Congo Brazzaville.
A win for the Lone Star will become a sigh of relief for Liberians and keep the team’s hope of qualifying alive.
