Ahead Of Clash With LPRC For LFA First Division Championship, BYC Gets A Boost

BYC 1st center back Prince Jetoh, and right back Samir Kamara are both back in training ahead of the League Grand Final against LPRC Oilers on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

Jetoh the team ’s deputy captain has made a few leagues starts this season, because of injuries, he was part of the squad that was defeated at home to Monrovia Club Breweries but was taken off the pitch in the Go Blue Boys 1-0 FA Cup victory over Bristol FC.

The cut he sustained on his right leg against the newly promoted second division side has kept the central back sidelined for the past few weeks.

However, Jetoh return to full training last week Thursday has given BYC a boost.
He could be available for the final against LPRC Oilers at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium after the international break.

Head coach Robert Lartey said Jetoh has been working hard on his defensive tactic and made be available for a section for the two finals.

“Prince return is a boost for us because Teah Dennis is with the national team and coming from such a crucial game to play in another tension park game will be tough for him”.

“We missed Jetoh a lot because he is a true leader, and his experience and return is good for the team, I am not sure he will play, but he will be available for section. Robert Lartey said.

Another player returning to the team is right-back Samir Kamara who injured his knee against Bristol FC. Kamara got the match only goal from the penalty spot but was substituted after a reckless tackle on him.

Kamara completed his recovery process and has been named fit for action by the medical team of BYC.

Lartey has been fighting to have a full fit player at right-back as Jeremy Saygbe has failed to complete the club last two games due to injury. James Walatee has played as a right back for the past three games.

The return of Jetoh and Kamara would leave just midfielder Tapia Fornah as the potential doubt.

“Kamara has given me another option because he can play in different roles, so we are ready for the final.’” Lartey said.

Both players were part of Lartey’s team that defeated Pepper FC 3-0 on Friday, October 12, 2018, in a friendly match and the BYC coach said he is impressed with their performances.
