Italian Investors Partnered With MCC In Beautifying Monrovia
The City Government of Monrovia on Wednesday, October 25, 2018 held talks with a group of Investors from Italy with discussions focusing on issues beneficiary to the city of Monrovia and its inhabitants.
The visiting investors are contemplating on exploring all opportunities to help develop the city in line with the PRO-POOR agenda for prosperity.
They intend to target viable sectors cardinal to the government pro-poor agenda including Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, Education and Infrastructure development.
Waste Management which is a major problem many developing cities in Africa are faced with and was one of their key focuses during their presentation to the City Government of Monrovia upon their arrival from Italy.
They noted that if Monrovia which is one of the oldest cities in Africa is to rapidly develop, it will require both the citizens and international partners including foreign and local investors to invest more in key sectors to impact the economy.
They believed that the youthful Mayor of Monrovia, Jefferson Tamba Koijee can perfectly drive the change that Monrovia endeavors with their full support.
Receiving the guest on behalf of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), the Chief of Staff in the Office of Mayor Koijee, Franco B. Grimes lauded the visiting Investors for their visit to Liberia and their plans on making Monrovia a developmental priority.
Mr. Grimes said the City Government is interested in the plans of the Investors and will work tirelessly in achieving these plans.
He also said the plans of the investors are deeply rooted in what has already been structured as a strategic plan of the Monrovia City Government under the leadership of Mayor Koijee.
