LDEA Seizes Heroin Valued US$192,000.00 – Woman Arrested
Officials of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) say they have arrested eight kilos of heroin drugs valued at US$192,000.00(one hundred and ninety-two thousand United State Dollars).
Making the disclosure over the weekend at the Headquarters of the LDEA in Monrovia, LDAE’s Director Marcus Soko informed this paper that the arrest of the heroin drug took place at different locations in Liberia.
According to Director Soko, huge quantity of the heroin drug was brought into the country by a Liberian lady who was discovered at the Robert International Airport after arriving by Kenya Airway flight number 5595 by LDEA officers at the RIA.
Officials of the LDEA explained that Miss Nathlyne T. Gbessagee, 37, was arrested on November 14, 2018 at 3: 20 pm during a thorough investigation by LDEA officers upon her arrival at the airport.
During an interview with reporters at the LDEA’s head office after the press conference with officials of the LDEA, madam Gbessagee admitted bringing into the country the narcotic drug for commercial purposes.
According to her, it was her first time doing such transaction which she said she was ordered by some international drug dealers to come in Liberia with heroin drug adding at the end of her transaction in Liberia, her payment from the deal would be US$2,500.00 (two thousand five hundred United State Dollars).
At the same time, authorities of the LDEA also disclosed that three men were arrested by officers of the LDEA in Red-Light and Center Street in Monrovia last week Thursday, November 15, 2018.
The three suspects arrested by the LDEA names are Musa Kamara, 28; Saah Varney, 32 and Denis Egole, 37.
