LISCR FC And BYC In CAF Assignments This Week
The runner-up in the LFA 2018 special league, LISCR FC will face Algerian boys, Union Sportive Madinet Bel Abbes Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in the first leg of the preliminary rounds of the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup.
The game takes place at the Stadium of 24 February 1956 in Algeria.
The Liberian delegation departed the country Saturday ahead of the match.
But report says LISCR FC could miss enterprising midfielder Allen Njie who has been struggling with injuries since Lone Star’s win over Zimbabwe some weeks back.
Despite his absence, LISCR FC technical staff says the team is in high momentum to pick up a good result on Tuesday.
The return leg will come on Monrovia on December 5, 2018, at the ATS with the side with the best result advancing to the second round of the Caf Confederation Cup preliminaries.
While LISCR FC is in Algeria, Champions BYC will be in action on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, against Horoya FC in Conakry, Guinea in the first leg preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
BYC departed the country Monday for the match on Wednesday.
The return leg will come on in Monrovia late next week.
Since LPRC Oilers enter the group stage of CAF competition in the 1980s, no Liberian club has crossed the preliminary rounds.
This according to BYC Coach, Robert Lartey is his top priority of ending.
Coach Lartey told The Monrovia Time Sports recently that he wants to break that record with BYC.
