BYC And LISCR FC Lost Away In CAF Clubs Preliminaries

Liberia’s two representatives in the 2018/19 CAF Confederation and the African Champions League received whippings Tuesday and Wednesday at the start of the CAF Clubs competitions.

Barrack Young Controllers, the double champions in Liberia suffered a 1-0 defeat away at the hands of Guinean Champions Horoya FC.

The Liberian Champions conceded the lone goal in the 70th minute. Trokon Myers and David Tweh presence for BYC prove some trouble for the home side.

Before the match, BYC head coach told Guinean media that he was in Conakry to fight for a win as he has set reach the group stage as his target for BYC.

Horoya FC, who eliminated FC Fassell from the CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries first round in 2015, will visit Liberia next Wednesday for the return leg in the first round of the CAF Champions league.

BYC needs a 2-0 win to advance to the second round of the preliminaries.
On Tuesday, LISCR FC was humiliated 4-0 away to Algerian Cup winners, USM Bel Abbes at the 24 February Stadium.

The home side scored three goals in the last 14 minutes of the match after the host took the league in the first half.

The second leg is due on Tuesday at the ATS in Monrovia, where LISCR must score five-unanswered-goals if the Liberian Shipping Boys are to have a say in the second round of the preliminaries.
