In the wake of the pro-poor agenda under the CDC led government, the Samay health center in Jorquelleh District #2 is said to be in dire need for the erection of an annex to the current facility.
According to reports from the acting Officer-in-Charge at the Samay clinic Kollieyan KC Cooper, at present, the clinic does not have a delivery and labor rooms for pregnant women attending the clinic.
Speaking to The Monrovia Times Tuesday at the Samay Clinic in Bong County District#2, Ms. Kollieyan Cooper stated that when pregnant women are in labor at the clinic, they do not have specific wards to attend delivery in a condition she said is hindering their work.
She put the estimated cost of the annex at $5,000 US Dollars an amount she said will be generated through their planned year-end program at the clinic on Saturday, December 15.
The professional Liberian nurse specifically called on Deputy House Speaker Prince Moye who is the Representative of Jorquelleh electoral District#2, Senators Dr. Henrique Flomo-Tokpa and Henry Yallah along with Representative Marvin Cole including Superintendent Esther Walker and Madam Dorothy Tooman amongst other personalities.
Kollieyan wants the collaborative efforts of goodwill institutions and individuals in Bong County for the speedy construction of the annex to the clinic to adequately deliver the needed health services to attendees in the area.
The Samay acting OIC also called on Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor and President George Weah to support the Liberian health sector if the lives of the citizens must improve for the better.
Ms. Cooper further revealed that this year, Samay clinic year-end program will coincide with the fundraising of the $5,000US Dollars to build the additional annex to the center.
The Samay clinic acting OIC said despite the many challenges confronting their operations, she praised her Boss Mr. Exodus Kermue for the level of management system he continues to carry on to improve the clinic.
