Bong and Grand Bassa kickball teams advanced to the semifinal of the 2018/19 National county Sports meet on Sunday with wins over Grand Gedeh and Bomi respectively.
Bong County who won all of their group matches with ease in Tubmanburg, struggled to win Grand Gedeh County 1-0 home-run after six rounds of innings at the Samuel Keyon Doe Sports Complex.
Bong County, a former winner in Kickball will challenge current Champions, Grand Bassa County in Wednesday’s last semifinal match at the SKD Sports Complex.
Grand Bassa defeated Bomi 3-0 home-runs in the early match Sunday to book a last four ticket.
On Saturday, former Champions, Margibi County defeated Sinoe county 1-0 home-run in eight innings.
They will face Nimba County who defeated Lofa county 8-1 home-runs.
The semifinal matches will come on Wednesday at the SKD just before the football semifinal fixtures.
Of the four, Nimba and Grand Bassa Counties are the two sides tipped to face off in the grand final with what they have showed so far in the competition, but Bong and Margibi counties could pull surprises.
Nimba and Bassa are many people favorites because of the attacking powers they have on their respective sides.
The two met in the last final with Grand Bassa ending Niemba’s dominance of the title.
