A one-day peace and reconciliation retreat organized by the sub-office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports has ended in Kakata Margibi County.

The retreat which was held at the Kakata City Hall brought together young people from the five electoral districts of the County as well as some local County Authorities.

Speaking with reporters at the end of the program, the Coordinator of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the County; Kingsoreso Wuo said the event was intended to bring the young people together in order to reconcile with each other because that is the only way the County can be developed.

He disclosed that after his appointment as a coordinator for Margibi, his leadership conducted a survey and it was discovered that after the 2017 general and presidential elections the young people of the County (political youth) and the politicians divided the citizens thereby making them go astray.

“You can check on the social media and you can see lots of words people used on their friends, we made that survey on the social media and we went to people getting their views as to the causes of people not united each other” he added.

Mr. Wuo explained that after gathering the information they as heads of the Ministry in the County decided to host the one-day peace and reconciliation program.

He asserted that they want to have peace in the County because without peace there will be no work in the County peace to restore in the mind of everybody.

Mr. Wuo furthered that during the retreat people called the names of other people whom they said were responsible for causing confusion in the County, but he said his office will call those that are involved to a round table discussion though he failed to call the names of those individuals.

He meanwhile promised to get on board those political actors that are in the Margibi because according to him they are the ones causing a problem in the County, but did not also call the name of a single politician.
