“Redemption Hospital Is Not Relocating” Rep. Seboe Clarifies; Says It Will Remain In Electoral District 16 Montserrado County

MONROVIA: With the persistent rumors hovering among people living within the Bushrod Island area concerning the relocation of the biggest public life-saving health facility which is located in the densely populated community of New Kru Town, Montserrado County District # 16 Representative, Dixson Wlawee Seboe has dispel the information by stating that the hospital will not be relocated as claimed by many.

“Redemption Hospital” as the name implies serves as the only beacon of hope for people living within the Borough of New Kru Town and other surrounding communities.

The medical structure which was designed to host only 250 patient beds at a time has since been threatened with sea erosion and the lack of capacity to contain the influx of patients daily.

In early 2017, it was predicted by community dwellers that the medical facility could face relocation due to its proximity to the ocean and its mini-structure.

But speaking to Legislative Reporters at the Capitol Building recently, Representative Seboe clarifies that the Redemption Hospital in New Kru Town will not be relocated but instead another hospital will be erected at the Caldwell Community which will have a similar name.

According to him, the new Redemption Hospital that is going to be built in the Caldwell Community will address complex cases that the hospital in New Kru Town finds it difficult to resolve.

He said the two Redemption Hospitals, which is going to be well equipped and fully funded, is going to bring extreme relieved to residents within the Bushrod Island area especially those who find it difficult to transport their sick relatives to bigger private hospitals in other parts of the country.

“Redemption Hospital is one of the critical places we have in our district and so before we took over as Representative of the District, there was this issue of the relocation of the Hospital. At least we were able to inform our people that the hospital is not going to be relocated and so there should be no fear,” he averred.

Touching on other issues, Representative Seboe said his first term as direct Representative of the people of New Kru Town has proven worthy due to his level of interventions he has made in his district and at the Legislature.

He named his support for the introduction of the Repatriation Bill at the House of Representatives and his sponsorship of the Liberia Empower Act as well as his views on many other national issues at the House’s plenary during the year 2018 as gains made by him.
