Barely days after the Institute for Research and Democratic Development (IREDD) released the 1st quarter report on the workings of the 54th National Legislature in 2019, residents of Margibi District #2 have hailed their Lawmaker, Ivar K. Jones for his achievement.
The IREDD report marked Representative Jones 100% or ‘A+’ for attending all 21 sessions at the Capitol Building something the citizens in separate statements welcomed.
Moses Carmoon, a resident of the District in an exciting mood said it is not strange to them that the Lawmaker will score ‘A+’ on grounds that they have been seeing the hand marks of the Representative.
Mr. Carmoon revealed that Rep. Jones has been able to construct a modern District Office, advocated for Firestone employees and employees of Farmington Hotel among others.
According to him, the Representative deserves the grade he scored and more because has been working harder even before becoming a Lawmaker in the District.
He stated that the Lawmaker has been able to pay tuition for students in elementary and junior high schools as well as colleges and universities, donated chairs to some schools and gave medical supplies to some health facilities respectively.
Karmoon narrated that the District #2 Representative has been able to adequately represent his people at the Capitol Building stating that this is his first term as Lawmaker, but his work has surpassed the marks of some second term Lawmakers and it surprises them as citizens.
Additionally, the District #2 resident said this is his first time that a Lawmaker is being marked ‘A+’ in the District, working tremendously and pledging 50% of his salary towards developing the District.
He used the occasion to call on Rep. Jones to remain focus and push the agenda of his people because they were the ones that elected him and not President or his colleagues.
Also speaking, Madam Lovete Johnson says there are lots of improvements taking place in the District under the leadership of Hon. Ivar K. Jones.
She added that the Lawmaker is always in the District with them especially during the weekend where they all met and discuss issues relating to the District and the outcomes are taken to the Capitol Building returning to them with a positive response.
Madam Johnson, ‘yes if it was not so he couldn’t have been graded ‘A+’ it is because of what he has been doing that’s why he got that mark, you know it’s like when you work whatever work you do and then expect good outcome you get a good grade for’.
She at the same time described Hon. Jones as ‘talk and do Lawmaker’ and he’s always willing to listen to his people. Lovete Johnson called on the Lawmaker to continue his good work or ever go beyond that.
Meanwhile, tough-talking Jenneh Kabbah has attributed the Lawmaker’s achievement to the numerous developments he has undertaken and continues to undertake in the District among others.
Mrs. Kabbah said Hon. Jones has been able to provide street light for Cotton Tree thus providing security for residents of the area while roads have been rehabilitated through his instrumentality.
She urged other residents of the District to do away with the destructive criticism and work together in order to be able to move the District forward.
