In an effort to raise funds for the development of districts and constituents, Montserrado County Senator Saah H. Joseph recently donated a 24 seated Bus to residents of District 16, which houses New Kru Town and other areas.
District 16 is heavily entrenched with supporters of the Ruling Coalition for Democratic Change of Change (CDC). Montserrado comprises 17 electoral districts.
Sen. Joseph, a member of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), filled the vacant seat caused by the ascendency of President George Weah to the presidency shortly after 2017 Presidential elections. Sen. Joseph was previously serving his second term as a representative of District 13, Montserrado County.
The donation, according to Sen. Joseph is a continuation of fulfilling promises to the people of Montserrado County and also an intervention for easing citizens need for transportation.
“Dividing money on individuals in Montserrado will be hard but as the Senator, I have the mandate to work with all representatives to ensure that the needs of our citizens are met through development and empowerment”, Sen. Joseph indicated.
Sen. Joseph lauded citizens for their continuous support to the Office of the Senator and the President for joint efforts for rapid development and urged the proper usage of the Bus.
“This bus is fully registered, insured and ready to use and I will give a $500USD gasoline at the end of the month as my contribution for the functionality of the bus and don’t worry it is 4 cylinder and economical.”
Speaking on behalf of residents of District 16, Representative Dixon Seboe lauded Hon. Joseph for the gesture and promised that the bus will be used by the District coordinator to generate funds and create jobs for citizens of the district.
“The Bus will be in the care of the District Coordinator to run it and generate funds, so now the work is on all of us to keep this bus safe and help to raise money to develop our district because people are about to get jobs through the running of the bus so we are encouraging you to take proper care.”, Rep. Seboe noted.
Sen. Joseph officially turned over all documents including insurance papers and key of the Bus to the District 16 Representative Dixon Seboe in the presence of hundreds of citizens and supporters at the CDC district office in New Kru Town.
