Ahead Of June 7 “Peaceful” Assembly, Pro And Anti-Government Supporters Clash In Central Monrovia

News

Serious stone throwing on Monday erupted between pro and anti-government supporters in Central Monrovia.

The incident followed the appearance of Representative Yekeh Kolubah on the 50-50 talk show hosted by Liberian Journalist T-Max Jlateh on Sky Fm.

According to eyewitnesses, Representative Kolubah after leaving the talk show saw supporters of the government and the district#10 lawmakers engaged into heated verbal attacks.

Our reporter said he saw some supporters of Rep Kolubah, as well as those in support of the government, sustained serious wounds as a result of the stone throwing.

Representative Kolubah has however accused Finance Minister Samuel Tweh of masterminding the standoff.

All efforts made by The Monrovia Times to contact officials of the Finance Ministry did not materialize up to press time.
