Coach Manneh who joined LISCR FC in 2016 on a three-season contract said he was happy ending the season as a champion, but announced to reporters that he was leaving the club at the end of his three years contract which comes to end at the end of the month.
The FA Cup title was cup number three for Gambian Coach Tapha Manneh in his three seasons with LISCR FC.
Coach Manneh won the FA Cup with LISCR in his first season in 2016/17 and followed that up with a controversial winning of the Championship title in front of FC Fassell who lost the title on protest.
Speaking to The Monrovia Time, Coach Manneh said he was excited recollecting the title he lost to BYC in 2018 and beating them 1-0 on the final day of the season.
The Gambia said “though the season had been rough, I was glad that the players mounted the courage to win the FA cup after missing out on the Championship. This is what I want for people to realize my presence in the country”.
There are reports that the coach has been offered the BYC’s job, and another job in Uganda Premier League, but the coach said he could not comment on the report as he was looking up to first ending his contract for LISCR FC.
He, however, confirmed that he will be leaving to seek a new challenge, but did not say where.
“I’m happy I have completed my mission with LISCR FC. LISCR has been a great family for me. I love the club and I believe that it is now capacitated to compete at the highest level of football. My mission was to get them into a big side, which I think I have done”.
