Graduating Seniors Of United Methodist University (UMU) Tuesday Staged A Protest Against US$850 Dollars Graduation Fee
Graduating seniors of the United Methodist University in Monrovia early Tuesday morning staged a street protest on the main campus of the institution over the reported decision of the administration to request 850 United States Dollars as graduation fee.
The UMU students who started their protest action with a roadblock on Ashmun Street, also demanded the administration of the university to release the results of the Student Council Leadership elections which were held early in May this year.
Reading a petition Tuesday, a student of the graduating class, Isaac Muapoh mentioned that the university’s administration took a decision to nullify the entire elections’ results for both the Junior and Senior classes for no genuine reasons.
Student Muapoh also frowned on the reported decision of the administration to charge US$850 United States dollars as graduation fee, saying the amount was unrealistic in the face of the harsh economic reality.
