Pregnant Woman, Two Others Killed In Tragic Motor Accident
A white pickup which took off from Monrovia for Buchanan at a terrific speed accidentally killed a pregnant woman and three other persons.
According to an eye witness account, the incident occurred at Kiss Meat Center, Baclayville Compound Number One in Grand Bassa County during the weekend.
The eyewitness said the pickup had nine occupants on board including the driver who was going for his father’s wake-keeping and funeral in Grand Bassa County.
The eyewitness further explained that the pickup was on excessive speed and the driver was told by occupants on the pickup reduce his excessive speed, but he could not listen to the passengers.
The eyewitness disclosed that one of the survivors told him that due to the high speeding by the driver when they reached the Owen Grove checkpoint he nearly burst open the gate due to the excessive speeding.
The eyewitness quoting a survivor said before reaching the Kiss Meat Center, Barclayville Compound Number One, the pickup somersaulted four times and finally landed into a creek where the pick-up rested on one of its occupants with its four tires in the air, killing him instantly.
As for the pregnant woman, she and others were thrown out of the pick-up due to the high speed. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.
The driver and four others survived, but most of the victims are said to be on critical list at various health facilities in Monrovia undergoing medical treatment.
