Ask Sisters Retained LKF Knockout Title
Liberia Kickball Federation Knockout Cup holders, Angels of the Sky (Ask Sisters) at the weekend retained their title.
Ask Sisters did so with a 2-1 victory over Vision Sisters at the Unification Town Sports Pitch in Lower Margibi County.
In a tight match, only errors could get the players racing him, as a missed throw in the third innings for Vision Sisters, gifted Ask Sisters the opportunity to score two home-runs.
Vision piled the pressure on the champions in the sixth and seventh innings but failed to make a needed home run.
They were however also gifted with a missed throw which saw the Capitol By-pass girls reduced the score to 2-1.
With just one out in their last innings, Vision did all the tracks they could, but Famata Dean and Beneta Paygar’s nice defending kept the score in favor of the Champions.
Ask Sisters who won the double last season can still repeat that as they are back in the championship race after two defeats at the start of the Big eight stage.
Vision Sisters were considered underdogs in the final by many, especially with their recent showings in the championship title, where they are struggling along to get their dream of winning the title back on track.
The Liberia Kickball federation presented trophy, medals and cash prize to Ask Sisters for lifting the 2019 LKF Knockout title.
It was the first time, the Liberia kickball federation Knockout final has been played outside Montserrado county.
Also on Saturday, God’s Win KC defeated Younda 4-3 to win the second division championship in Margibi County LKF Sub Association League.
