World Bank, Liberian Government Signed 19 Million Financing Grant Aimed At Ensuring Management Reform For Institutional Strengthening Project

The World Bank and the Liberian Government have Signed a 19 Million USD financing grant aimed at ensuring management reform for institutional strengthening project

During the signing ceremony in Monrovia on Wednesday World Bank Liberia Country Director Pierre Laporte said the provision of the grant to the Liberian Government is intended to improve domestic revenue mobilization system and strengthen financial control and accountability in public finance.

The Minister Finance and Development Planning Samuel Tweh signed for and on behalf of the Liberian Government while the World Bank Liberia Country Director Pierre Laport signed on behalf of his institution.

The World Bank Country Director said the project which has the duration of five years when completed, will give the Liberian Government the availability of online integrated tax administration services.

Finance and Development Planning Minister Samuel Tweh commended the World Bank for the provision of the 19 million dollars grant financing and said the money will be used for the reform project of the tax system.
