President Weah Expected To Announce New Central Bank Governor And Agriculture Minister by October 2019
Liberia’s President George Manneh Weah is expected to restructure the senior management team of the Central Bank of Liberia by October 2019. The President will also appoint a new Agriculture Minister upon his return from the United Nation General Assembly.
Disclosing on Tuesday during the regular Executive Mansion press briefing, Deputy Presidential Spokesman Smith Toby said the Liberian leader will shortly restructure the bank’s senior management team.
It can be recalled that President Weah in May this year said the current Executive Governor, Nathaniel Patray would be retired in three months period, paving the way for the appointment of a new bank official.
The Liberian leader told the nation that his government was going to open nominations for a vetting committee to appoint the bank’s new leadership.
According to Mr. Smith Toby, the president will soon announce a new Agriculture Minister, with the tenacity to promote the government pro-poor agenda through the revamping of the agriculture sector.
Mr.Toby use the occasion to rubbished speculations on social media that President George Weah is seeking a six-month leave to seek medical attention abroad, terming the report as mere gossip.
