“Henry Costa Over Will Not Be Turn Over To Liberian Government” Says Sierra Leone’s Information Minister.
Speaking to BBC Focus On Africa, Sierra Leonean Information Mohamed Swaray said Henry Costa will not be turned over to the Liberian government.
The Minister said Mr.Costa is enjoying all of his privileges as contained in several human rights protocols and that Sierra Leone as a soverenign democracy will not take dictation from any government.
Mr. Costa was prevented from boarding his SN Brussel flight from Sierra Leone’s Lungi International airport on Tuesday. News of his arrest spiral across the internet and created chatters in both Liberia and Sierra Leone amidst reports that the Weah led-government had requested his extradition back to Liberia.
Mr. Costa was undergoing investigation in Liberia over his acquisition of a laissez-passer which officers of the Liberia immigration services identified to have been forged.
The Sierra Leonean Information Minister also announced that Costa is not in detention and assured everyone that the Sierra Leonean government will not interfere in Mr. Costa’s basic rights and fundamental freedom.
